Success Stories from Barringtons ClubsNSW Job Ready Program

Janine Collins - Trained: Ingleburn RSL November 2016 - Working: Camden RSL

I started work at Camden RSL in November 2016. The Job Ready team arranged an interview for me at the Club before I had even finished the course!

I had worked in the retail industry prior to this and at McDonalds while I was at school, but this the first position I had achieved in the Club Industry.

Michael told me that he recommended me to the Club and I was contacted the next day. I was hired after meeting the Secretary Manager for an Interview.

Camden RSL is a friendly Club with about 4000 members. We have our regulars every week and I love being part of the team and a member of this great community. Being a smaller Club I have to be able to do everything!

I started working behind the bar, but look after poker machines and help with function and I also spend a lot of time doing reception at the front door of the club.

The Job Ready Program was a great experience for me. The trainers and Employment Officers are really friendly and helpful and I think this is a great way to get a start in the hospitality industry as well as learning lots of important skills. Job Ready really worked for me.
